[SPN] Watch and Listen
Title: Watch and Listen
Character/Pairing: Dean, Sam
Rating: *shrugs* G/PG I think.
Prompt: [info]supernatural100's prompt blink
Words: 280
Disclaimer: I actually own Dean's necklace now - so woot, a step up! (Offstage Voice: It's just a model.) Shh... *cough* I own nothing else though.

-------

There was an episode of Doctor Who on the television, playing in a marathon on the SciFi channel that Dean only watched for the campy horror flicks. It was one of the things the two of them would do – sit and laugh and make sarcastic comments in reference to the movie versus their own experiences with the supernatural.

Right now, both of them were eyeballing the screen with unusual fervor. Dean wasn’t usually a fan of the show – and Sam wasn’t a fan of the genre. Nevertheless, the two of them sat, heads tilted forward in curiosity.

“Ever heard of something like those?” Dean gestured to the monster-angel-statues that only moved when they weren’t being watched.

Sam shrugged, but it was a small movement. “Only thing that comes close would be Gargoyles. But that’s just a bare connection. Gargoyles are supposed to be ugly, not pretty.”

Dramatic music played in the background. “Huh,” Dean drank his beer.

“It’s definitely one of those instances of fiction being stranger than fact, rather than the other way around.” Sam dropped the glass bottle on the floor, and he grinned slightly.

“No kidding. But hey, at least we know how to kill’em.” Dean pointed to the screen as the protagonists vanquished their foe.

“I thought you would have just gone in with a crowbar,” Sam quipped. “No finesse necessary.”

“I have plenty of finesse,” Dean protested, but the smile was already there. “I’d have come in there and you would have been on the floor, being choked like a bitch, as usual. I would’ve saved your ass man.”

Sam laughed, but didn’t say anything else. He didn’t have to.

Dean always saved his ass.
